I've been getting some complaints about the lage sizes of signatures among some people on the board. The mods and I agree on this, and have decided to set some rules/guidelines:

- The maximum number of lines, including the height of images is 15. This comes to around about 225 pixels.

- The maximum height of an image is around 150 pixels. This isn't completely strict, a few pixels over doesn't matter. The sig still has to be contained in the 15 line limit.

- Don't stretch the tables. If your sig stretches the tables, see what you can do to shorten it horizontally.

To enforce these rules, we've devised a system:

- The person will be notified via PM about his signature size, and be asked kindly to change it and refer them to this post.

- If nothing happens in a day or so, their sig will be made empty, and another PM telling them that I've reset it.

- If they restore their sig back the way it was, or is still large, they will recieve a warning pip and the sig will be reset once more.

- And so on

So, there you have it. This topic is open to suggestions from anyone.

Happy posting!

*Reduces sig size a bit just in case*

What's up with the warn thing below my name? I haven't done anything wrong or offended anybody... at least not to my knowledge... and I don't see it on anyone else's name...

The warn meter is a new feature. When the meter is at 0%, it means you are doing nothing against the forum rules. You don't see it under other people's names simply because you don't need to know if other people are screwing up. I know this because I invented the warn meter. My other great accomplishments include the invention of the in-flight meal, and setting the world record for balancing the most armadillos on a flag pole.

I had just seen the warning system the other night and decided to try it. I think it's un-needed now, so it's gone.

This thread makes me want to put my full-size banner in my signature, why do people b*tch about signature sizes so much? Aside from that one time when someone put a whole page-long poem in their signature (I forget who it was), I've never seen anyone here with an obscenely long signature. This sort of restriction is just silly, in my opinion, and if people are complaining about having to scroll too much, their fingers probably need a workout.

If they get too noticable they become kinda like the commercials on TV when you're watching a movie.

I think this is good call. When the signature is so much larger then the actual posts, what you've written tends to get swallowed up in between.
