To be frank - the hilarity of the Arlo/Ibun musicality situation made me gigglechortle enough to stick around.

Meh, there's really not a lot of musical compatibility here. I'd say no.
This.

Less musical compatability = all the better, 'cause I'll be more likely to find new stuff that may = awesome.

A music forum would be a good thing I think, despite the "lack of musical compatibility" (which is code for "no one here likes exactly the same music I do and I hate that"). It would be an Anything sort-of thing, only music-related. For example, those forumites who make their own music could post it there.

This thread sickens me. It should not even be a discussion. Let me tell you all the things wrong with this thread, this thread's creator, and this idea.

Arloest (aka angela) is the newest moderator here - how can such a new member be proposing such a drastic change to our fourm structure? Speaking as an old memeber here I say we should stick to our old tried and true methods. If it ain't broke, dont fix it.

Sharing music would inevitably lead to massive surges in interform communication. We do not need this unwarranted increase in conversation - more communication means more chance for arguments and hurt feelings, and many people in this community do not want this.

And this thread, what the hell? What kind of thread gets longer the more it is used? This thread is obviously a satanic work.

All joking aside, a music fourm would be horrible for DC. That is why I invite everyone who agrees with me to vote yes and put an end to this horrible thread.

I'm a musician and I vote no. The forum doesn't have enough active members, or generate enough topics, to justify an additional board at this time; it would only cause the existing boards to thin out.

I say revisit the subject when the forum's other boards become too crowded.

I think it can't hurt. At worst, no one posts there and we revert back to what it was like before. But having a music forum might open up a new avenue for more members to post and become more active

This.
Second.

I can attest that this works very well, and it helps broaden horizons of music for many people. If compatability were too high, it would end up being mindless gushing about four main artist (if even) and that's all!

I do agree with us having a rather low activity count for this, but I'm going to vote Yes. I know how well music forums work out.

This is what sub-forums are for.

A sub-forum would be fine. In fact, perhaps preferable.
