Two things

Postby Rooster » Mon Dec 11, 2006 10:41 am

Firstly, is anyone else noticing us becomming a target for trolls? We've had two in as many weeks, and they really annoy me.

Another thing, is that the site gallery is woefully out of date. And although I understand updating it would take a while, I think it would be a good investment.

End communication...

I suggest requiring new regestrations to be approved by the admin, and only allowing users to post.

But that makes it a lot more unfriendly to new comers. If I had to wait for an admin's approval I prolly would have forgotten about it by the time I got the approval, or at that point not care. Another point is you normally cant tell a troll just by looking at his name, and some people dont like to give out their e-mail address until the forum has earned some trust.

I must agree with Holyman's point on this -- some people could choose not to give out email addresses no matter how popular they are, for their own security reasons.

As for the trolls, well we almost always have things burning around here, we might be able to make them a part of that massive bonfire over there until an Admin can smite them with the Banhammer. :)

On the subject of trolls - We do all we can when we see them.

On the subject of the gallery - Do you mean the fan art gallery for the site? I've been waiting for whatever Baloki is going to do to update the page. Otherwise it's a fairly straightforward update. Perhaps not many saw my post in the other thread. If you have Ozy and Millie related art you want featured, tell me.

I have a near perfect solution for our troll problem. All we need to do is contract three billy goats gruff.

Dynamite.

Lots and lots of dynamite.

You have to have a valid email to regester.

man, I'll gladly help you if it's still alright with Jason. I just wasn't capable to make different pages and upload art, but if that's been fixed I'll gladly lend a hand.

Trolls are simply an unforunate but inevitable part of being on a forum. You can never get rid of them, no matter what you do or what forum you're on, so you have to learn to live and let live.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I haven't been here long and haven't seen alot of troll activity, but you should consider yourselves pretty lucky. I've gone to forumns that have developed into nothing but trolls and flaming. Kudos to the moderation staff for keeping things under control here.

I think it has more to do with being a small forum.
