Define Cynical Fan Forums

I've noticed that the maximum allowed length for a signature is cited as being 25,000 characters <!--emo&:blink:--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /><!--endemo--> <br><br>Isn't that just slightly excessive, or is there a reason for it?<br><br>(Not that I expect any member of these forums would wish to abuse it or anything, i'm simply a bit curious! )

Well, no one seems to be trying to abuse the ability to write huge sigs, so there hasn't been a pressing need to reduce it. I would think that adding long image tags, links, or a long quote might contribute significantly to the character limit.

The members at this board are clever enough to know what is too much and what is un-needed, and if one member does abuse the freedom and wont co-operate, they won't ruin it for everyone else. I can remove sigs myself and suspend accounts, if it gets bad enough. But I'm confident it wont any time soon.

The scary part is that I think we've proved that everyone on this board has too much time. Just wait until someone gets bored, someone'll try it.

Let me just stress the point that I wasn't bringing this issue up because I thought that people would abuse it.

Oh! If you're going to make the limit smaller have it 300 or above because all that code in mine takes up 200+.

i don't see any need to change it. just think of it as a dragon conspiracy if you had wanted it changed before ,that should change your mind. Who knows, perhaps islode is off on one of her big plans again, giving us a massive abount of space that we will never use!
