All my Legos are packed away in the basement. I used to build all the large castles and stuff and have armies of knights and dragons fight each other. Man, do I miss those days.

Hm. Legos were a lot of fun; as I recall I would unpack all of them but then sit there thinking of things to build without actually going through with anything.

...Yes, you can learn that much about someone from just one post.

I mainly played more modern sci-fi type stuff with Legos; the collection is mostly Town and Space sets with a couple others peppered in there. My main playing style with them as a kid was the S. Team (later S. Agents, since the name looked like "Steam"... *sigh*) Basically an adventurous buncha good guys (me and a couple friends playing as ourselves) trying to keep the Resistants at bay. Naturally, we made the coolest inventions for ourselves, but kept other forces well enough to keep play interesting. It's another one of those stories I still need to cover on my homepage someday.

Sadly, though, I've become more like Janusedge now. With so many Legos in there, it's not easy to spread them out anywhere to build new stuff. I usually just end up spending most of my time resorting them and making sure they pack up in the right containers when I'm done.

I always used to alternate playing with a town/dollhouse type setup and having sci-fi battles. I also built lots of obscenely huge vehicles that would be the size of large houses if the mini-figures were scale-sized people. After Christmas I'll try to get some pictures of my collection, although unfortunately most of my custom creations are no longer intact, thanks to me starting a project and never finishing it or my dad saying my buildings were too girly

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all, or whatever holiday you celebrate!

I should work on buildings again sometime. I know I have enough bricks for it, but I have not been very good at that kind of stuff. My expertise was mostly small to medium sized aircraft and some exotic-looking cars for single passengers. I like making wing designs with the plates.

Man, I really need to bring out my old collection and rebuild the kingdom. Not to brag, but I aquired a ton of Legos from a friend a while back, and my collection is MASSIVE. I had about every set they had of medievil castles and stuff like that (I forget the name of the actual collection, but if it was knights and dragons and castles, I had it! I was obsessed with that fantasy stuff back then...heck, I'm still obsessed with that stuff!) Sadly, they have not been unpacked since we moved to my current house three years ago. Well, I have the next week and a half off, maybe I'll bring them out again. I can't promise pics, though, since I don't hve a digital camera and my scanner sucks. Thanks for renewing my interest in Legos, maybe I'll have something to do this break.

It used to be simply "Castle", but then they added "Pirates" to that theme which was cool since it added monkeys to the menagerie, then... hmm.. *looks through old catalogs* "Ninjas", "Knight's Kingdom"... they used a lot of catapults. hehe

I'll have to read up about the rest later.

Hmm.. does anyone here recall the Belville theme? Reading FelixLockhart's journal reminded me about it.

I remember that. There was a girl I used to live near and she had a bunch from that set. I'd bring my Legos over and use the dragon to burn her towns. The worst part is that she thought it was just as funny as I did.

I actually found one in a "garage sale" sponsored by a high school next to the university I am currently attending. It was in a plastic "Ziploc"-type clear bag, so the first thing I noticed was a large green baseplate. I had to look closer before I noticed it was genuinely Lego. I thought, "Hey, cool! Unique parts!" I was hoping to find other Lego sets there, but that was it.. Still, I just couldn't turn down a Lego set priced so low. After looking through the assembly instructions (!) I was able to determine that the set was complete, although some bows were missing from the figurine's shoes and the headband broke off soon afterwards.

Lincoln Logs! I have a whole suitcase (for some reason we use a suitcase to store them; weird things like that are the norm) of those things! I also have some K'nex, and some Constructs. I'd use them all together sometimes, but I don't have too many K'nex. But I have tons of Constructs (I think that was what they're called). For those who don't know what Constructs are, they're plastic interlocking bars that are connected with little blue connector pieces. It's hard to explain. I wish I could show pics. They're still awesome, though, and worked great with Legos.

I have a bunch of K'nex here, they're pretty cool too. I used to have a K'nex roller coaster that took up almost a whole room by itself, but then we moved into this townhouse and no longer have the room for it, so I have a huge tub of K'nex parts now.

Ahh, Belville, that brings back some memories. Of course I could never get any of them. I loved the pirate Legos, though, because I pretend the ships were like cruise liners

I really need to find the pictures where I have my Belville figurine making some kickboxing stances and such. The kid's a lot more flexible than those Technic figurines. *laugh*
