FoxChilds a mod now?

Oops.. I didn't realize when this would happen. Sorry. 5hfifty and the rest of us failed to mention this, but I thought there would be a formal announcement sometime before it would happen. Anyway, from what FoxChild has told me, he has been granted temporary moderator privileges to help Sabre, daBomb, and me cover for 5hfifty's absence for the next couple weeks. When 5hfifty announced he was going to camp and then I announced my trip to San Antonio, FoxChild was the only one that sent a PM to me and the others to offer his services as a temporary mod. I guess 5hfifty decided to take him up on the offer just in case such a thing happens again this holiday season.

Well if you guys had needed help, all you had to do was ask. Generally it's forum ettiquette not to ask. Well it's good it's someone who is uber active

It hadn't occurred to me to ask since I cannot grant admin privileges anyway. Besides, I was in no position to make a temp mod offer. FoxChild's request was in response to our break-induced understaffing, which was known to everyone. I didn't feel that we were in any real trouble, but believe 5hfifty did a good job selecting FoxChild as a mod. FoxChild was attentive to the problem and willing to help before we had considered asking for it.

Also if he plans on switching mods so often and plans on just smoding them everywhere, he may wish to simply just create an smod group and set it so that group can mod all forums. Just trying to help with redundancy.

It was mentioned in 5hiftys post before he left. In any case, in reply to hdufo's etiquete delema.. etiquete or not, i've always been taught when people need help, offer it. I was, and still am on define cynical daily, sometimes several times a day during the semester. Since i was around any way, I thought i'd put out a helping hand when needed. The second 5hfifty comes back, i will gladly step down. Im not in it for power (although the power does tingle a bit!), just to do what i can.

Well, if you guys ever need another mod or admin, I could do it. Whew.. I was worried it'd be down until 5hfifty returned next month/year. Mods, did he leave any of you with contact info should this happen again? Having the site go down might be pretty bad if there's no way any of us can notify the provider.
