Hey, this is Asterikboy86! I was just on the Index and decided to check out new member,
tgikrbt@tgjms.com, went to the profile and clicked on the weblink. It took me to this website about medication ratings and stuff like that. AND then my computer blacked out and crashed and I had to reboot. I justed wanted to know is that spam?

I think you caught a spam bot before he spamed. Time to bring out the angelic blades and hunt down spam central again.
*Walks off with three blades.*
EDIT: I think the new guy user_ something or other, is also spam, his website is party Poker ((Not that we all don't like that

))

I think we need a separate forum area to put all of the spam in. I've seen it on another forum. Although I'm not that tech smart to figure out how to do that.

why do that? first off, we get off topic a lot and that can count as spam. second off, whenever there has been threads like that (like the guy who insulted furries and the double-posted spam threads, but I know there were others) they either resulted in a discussion that made it valid to keep or were simply deleted. No sense in keeping a thread filled with links to buy illegal drugs or enlarge your anatomy on the site.

Sorry, it was just an idea. I wasn't suggesting anything, it was just an idea.

I personally prefer Poker Stars, you can have a custom avitar there [you have to download from their .com site, NOT .net], you can find me lurking the Play Money servers as Traysandor =3

Yes there have been a lot of spammers signing up. Please do NOT click on links that look like spam even if you are interested in the link. Spammers can see website referrals, so every time you click we become more popular for spammers.

Asterikboy86, it sounds like you may have gotten a virus at that website. If you haven't already, I'd suggest doing a full system scan with up-to-date virus removal software.

I don't think I'd want to support sites that try to profit from posting spam on discussion boards, whether via the actual link posted here or by retyping it elsewhere. It only encourages such spamming practices.

Whenever someone spams or flames us our typical tangential conversation gets us horribly offtopic thus rendering the original offending thread powerless.

Mostly powerless... the power gets completely removed once the spam
changes colors.

Ah purple! The color of royalty, gamecubes, and supreme moderator power which derives from a mandate from the masses

Slightly spammed forum is better than a completely dead one. But isn't there a "type in this stuff so we can tell that you're human" option for registering?

Yeah that freaky thing that says: "Type what you see in this box" and it's like random letters and numbers set in an odd fashion.

I think that's recently been put into place. Hopefully we'll see less fake users registering now.
