Define Cynical Fan Forums

The updates forum looks like dead weight to me. What do you think about it?

it's the submission to the stuff section/smilies for the forum, so it definitely needs to be added.

The Update Material forum was created to be a place to make materials destined for the "Stuff" section of the original site to be easily located by the admin for the next site update. Since then, a few things have changed:

• The site had not been updated in a year
• The discussion board has a new admin
• The site now consists of just the discussion board

For these reasons, the Update Material forum cannot exist for its original purpose. If it is to stay, we will need to redefine its purpose to something that can still apply to the DC community.

Of course, one could argue that its original purpose is still valid, that is, the Update Material forum would be a natural place to invite members to design a new DC website that defines the community and demonstrates the best of what the fandom has to offer.

As expected, the rutabega option is winning out, hehe...

Seriously, there should still be some place for members to put stuff that they want to contribute to the forum or the site [which is now the forum], and it shouldn't be deleted, at least not in my opinion.

The stuff section used to feel like more of an integral part when it was updated, in the first several months of these boards. If Likeafox thinks he's capable of doing it, then I would like to have it be that way again.

Am I the only one who is getting a little annoyed with the rutabegas in the poll thing? I mean, I understnad the reference, but it's getting old, and it takes away from the actual poll itself.

I dont mind the update material, providing someone does updates every once in a while.

I voted "no" because I wanted to be different.

If that part of the forum should keep its original purpose then the forum has to link to a site, then as updates follow I think it should be kept. otherwise it should merging it with Site Stuff sounds better. There's not much in it but topics on when the updates would occur, so it wouldn't crowd the other topics in Site Stuff much.

And keep the rutabegas, they're a staple of any common diet...of Define Cynical.

Site Stuff was its old name. It's now called "The Site".
