Define Cynical Fan Forums

I woudl like to remind peole that we have decided that this site shoudl be for all ages. Soem people have used a little bit of profanity here and there. I dont; realy want to cause trboule I;'m jsut tryign to remind people that profanity isn't polite in this forum.

we had a thread about this...<br><br>two years ago, which makes the only purpose of my mentioning it be to say that whoever it was that came up with the idea I'm mentioning tried to make it so you would <i>know</i> what they were really saying (taco of death...just a horrible censorship).

These things can be, must be done without having to resort to profanity. Its inclusion only undermines the quality of what is being said and keeps the message from ever seeing the light of day.<br><br>If you cannot put your responses together without throwing in a couple swear words, you need to think harder about whatever it is you are saying, because no one will want to read your writings if they are framed by grotesquely malformed lumps of expletives. Language is a beautiful thing; please don't ruin it.

And I do tend to find that it's best not to post replies to threads in discussion forums while angry.

If you can say something nice, then don't say anything at all! Expletives are just a lazy attempt at trying to make a conversation.

Well, when I'm angry the chance of using explictives are about 106%, but I never get that angry on these forums, so I should be OK for that.<br><br>I do admit, however, I use bad language a LOT. Most of the time without realizing it. I just come from a household where EVERYONE swears. Including my parents. And me, talking to my parents.

The way I see it, much expletive use in real life comes as a spur of the moment kind of thing, mayhap due to an ability to better articulate feelings.<br><br>On the interweb, with as much time to think about what you want to say, a person doesn't need to be limited to using expletives because they can better word something.
