I still wonder how BSheepPro managed to get as many posts as he does. It seems like he never posts and he should hardly even have 1000

Usually needs to be patched within a few hours of the release of a new patch to prevent any security holes from being exploited. Deceptively easy to modify, except when it's patch time.

Simple Machines - Written by the folks who originally developed YaBB, SMF is a fairly new platform, and very user-friendly. Packed with features, and has a built-in mod automation tool. However, it has very limited support for HTML tags, and not many skin options yet.

YaBB - Similar to SMF from what I can tell, but runs on CGI instead of PHP. CGI is an older web scripting language, and may not be supported by this server. PHP would be preferable.

MiniBB - I've never dealt with this one personally, but it's a very simplistic platform with few options, from the looks of it. Uses an odd combination of PHP, static HTML, and javascript.

Having run both SMF and phpBB on my server, I highly recommend SMF.

I've used and modded on both PHPBB, and SMF. I prefer SMF.

you can see your user info and avatar at the top of the page, and hide that stuff if you do not want to.

The editing of the user's profile is easier and more organized.

I love the calandar that SMF has.

And there are other things i like about it.

Sorry for the double post but I think I found another error. When I tried to link to an image it said this...

You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif

I think it was because the page the image itself was on didn't have any .gif or .jpg ending. I don't know if this was always like this or a product of the hack. Just thought you might like to know.
