I prefer the original version myself. I also like IceDragon's idea about having more than one website skin so people can choose what they want.
We had forum skins, but it seems they're among the disabled options now.

Wow; I am one of two people who likes the new banner? We're getting beat by the rutabegas!
I say that the newer banner is more representative of D.C. Simpson's current art style, but it looks like the overwhelming preference is for the older version. I liked this one of the three choices, if it matters:

Ooo... I remember the Random Philosophy threads. I've been thinking about making one, though I haven't had the time to think anything through. What were we on? 8? 9? I seem to recall making the last one. (And about a rather poor topic, at that.)
Still mostly here.

I don't really remember the random philosophy threads much. Looking back, it seems I joined up around the time the last one started. I could only find six "Random Philosophy/Physics" threads crawling through the archive:
Random Philosophy/Physics 1
Random Philosophy/Physics 2
Random Philosophy/Physics 3
Random Philosophy/Physics 4
Random Philosophy/Physics 5
Random Philosophy/Physics 6
There might be more that are misplaced somewhere. I think I saw a few Forum Games threads back in there, so not everything's where it should be.

I agree that it would be nice for the forums to go back to the way they were. But you can't go home again, and even if you do, it's likely there will be strange people living there now. (Like where I grew up, there's now a family there that's pit up all sorts of garish lawn ornaments - even a pink flamingo. We've had our old neighbors call up and say they want us back. But I digress.)

I remember we had three skins last I checked. one was normal, one was normal but slightly different for some reason, one was "doomworld." I used doomworld for a while until I realized I liked black text better.

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

The slightly different skin Doog mentioned was the Blue Skin, which obviously had an emphasis on blue. It was the one I was using.

I've probably said this before but I'll say it again, I fully support a move. Be it to a different forum system or hosting service so long as the step provides equal or better oppurtunity regarding the site and forum. Of course it could take some adapting to and early glitches as a result but most change usually brings that about anyway.
It would be nice if this site could be updated to fix the security issues and various stuff of course. We can probably continue as we are but improvements would be hugely beneficial, like for instance, regular updates to the site itself (the News section seems to have been untouched since May 2004), and a bringing to date of the material in Stuff.

In case 5h offered to let someone else take the site off his hands. I even IM'd with Felix about it in case he ended up being that someone (it seemed he was the most likely candidate at the time). My idea was a lot more complex though; it involved combining DC's forum and fanworks page, House Rules, and The Attic into one site called The Dragon Illuminati (I did say it would make a perfect name for a fansite). I can dream.

But anyway, if either of the admins is ever considering a site-wide redesign of some sort, feel free to let me know. I could probably whip up something pretty fast. Despite the simple design of my own site, I'm actually quite the mac when it comes to advanced layouts. I should probably get around to making a fake sample site to put on my host but I don't nearly have the time for that anymore.

I can't decide. I feel that both banners have their merits.
