Just out of interest, does anyone else have any problems logging on to it?
I've recently moved out to university and haven't been able to connect to the acidchat server, connecting to others ie: esper.net is fine however.
Anyone got any ideas?

Remember: it's 'random.acidchat.net', not 'irc.acidchat.net'

I had problems at firts too, but if you log in from an alternate server (the ones listed at the landing strip) you'll have no problem

Ironically enough, I've been having troubles connecting to esper.net, but not acidchat.

Your university most likely blocks the ports via a proxy server, I could recommend some ways around it however they probably break your uni's fair use policy...

If I recall correctly, some of the acidchat servers also use port 7000. It might work; it might not. If it does work, note that such access may be monitored and blocked later, so don't depend on it.

Some IRC clients let you specify ranges. I tend to stick with 6667-7000. never seems to give me problems.
I got sick of not having a signature. Now if only I had anything to put in it...

I get a box that says "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address...". Assuming thats a sort of fill in the blank thing, I don't think i need to include the rest of it, but it has something to do with "protocol".
