Olympic Torch Protest

You know I do understand why there's such an uproar against China now but it's really nothing new. It seems silly to me to start protesting now when the time to do it was during the selection process a while back. It's a moot point now and it certainly want make China change their ways. My biggest gripe about these folks is that they seem to have all this time and money on their hands that they don't work and just go around protesting. I do believe in protesting against China's abysmal human rights record but why don't these folks and the actors like Richard Gere put some of that money toward homeless shelters or something.

It's an excuse for hippies and celebrities to protest something.

in my opinion, they could have avoided at least 1/4 - 1/3 of the protest if they didn't decide to have tibet as the final location for the torch.

I hate the Olympic Torch too, but I don't like that they're dragging politics into an otherwise perfectly fine protest. Bloody students.

They should use the British type of torch. Alot harder to steal batteries than it is to put out a flame.

How dare that interrupt an international event? Are you kidding me? What would you do in this instance? It is the perfect time for them to interrupt an international event because of all the attention being brought to their country.

Why does China want to keep Tibet, anyway? What resource does it offer in abundance?

If we don't stop them, they'll come after Tony Shalhoub next!
