Elmo is evil

Maybe you thought so already, but here's a new reason. There's an Elmo doll on the market that can be taught to say names and phrases. Following a battery replacement, the doll belonging to a toddler named James now says, "Kill... James...," when you press it. It's a difficult situation for the mother, because James absolutely loves Elmo merchandise, including that doll -- and now repeats, "Kill... James...." The company has refused to do anything about it.

Our whole country only had four stations when I was growing up.

True. Up until recently, a double-digit number of available channels was the exception rather than the norm. Nevermind the vast array of channels available now.
The irony is, if you took out all the garbage, waste-of-airspace shows on satellite TV, and only kept the quality programming, you'd have just enough material to keep a half-dozen stations running full-time.

I think it would be more around 15 channels.
