I'm not as much of a geo whiz as the tests imply. I had thought that Kosovo was independent already.

"To those who champion Kosovo's independence, I can only ask how you feel about the Lakota Republic, or Quebec sovereignty? Of course Russia is right, their main point being how can you do this without full agreement on all sides? This is asking for conflict. If Kosovo wants its independence that's all fine and good, but it's not the role of the west to step in and escalate the conflict by playing one-sided arbiter. It would be the same as France coming into Canada and declaring unwaivering support for their (Que.) independence movement, or for China to step in and champion the independence cause of the Lakota people."

J. Booker.

Interesting and valid point here.

I also wonder about what would happen if Northern Ireland was to declare itself independent of the United Kingdom.

Last I heard, the Northern Irish were more patriotic to the UK than the English.

Exactly. I remember how there was always stuff on the radio about that when I was younger. First major world news event I can remember in any amount.

Hmm. Find the person that told you that and punch them in the neck, for that is the appropriate punishment for lying.

Those people are overseas. I'll have to exercise my telekinesis before I punch them.

I declared my house a sovereign state but no news network reported it.
