Well, no, thats not really accurate...The problem is, even if we could burn all the water in the world, that ain't gonna solve the global warming problem, is it? Any new energy source would have to be of the non-burning variety. That's why I take issue with ethanol too.
The theory behind man made global warming revolves around greenhouse gases, not simply burning things. It's theorized that greenhouse gases trap in more solar radiation and light, which in turn heat the planet more. The idea behind using ethanol as a fuel is that it would not produce those gases.
This story is strange... I wouldn't have doubted finding a way to harness energy from a source like that, but what is said, and visible in the video, don't make sense along with it. If it's the hydrogen burning, its not pure hydrogen. given the source, that makes sense. They're also using a flame to start the reaction, so it's not just the machine itself. It seems more likely to me that the vapors are igniting, not the water itself... like sticking water into a microwave and having it produce something that will take flame.
Also, thats a strange 'engine', is it just me or is it strange that all it needs to run is a small kick start and a flame touching a rod at the bottom? The flame doesn't have enough force to propel anything in that engine, and if its something heat related... well, I've not heard of an engine running on heat alone...

Well, hey, enough of that stuff could kill ya...The day we have to worry about water vapor is a scary day indeed.Like water vapour and carbon dioxide? The theory behind man made global warming revolves around greenhouse gases
I do have to admit, I really find that funny, as well as some other similar events whereby people were signing a petition outside of McDonald's trying to ban this "dangerous chemical" from being used in their food.Well, hey, enough of that stuff could kill ya...

I looooove tricking people with that. I start telling them about a deadly chemical called DHMO, which is a strong industrial solvent used in weapons factories but which can also be found in your home... also known as hydroxyl acid, a TINY amount in your lungs could KILL YOU...
...then I tell them it's water and they get mad at me for some reason

It's all about spin; the ability to take facts and portray them in a manor of your choosing to help sway someone to one view point or another. The media is great at it. People get rather pissed off if they realize that they're a victim of 'spin' and start rallying for something stupid.I looooove tricking people with that. Ahhh, one day everyone here will be able to pick up on Doc's subtle non-seriousness immediately. It can take a while though!
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I've been told that I'm "an acquired taste"
That sounds really, really weird.

-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.
