The Wright Bros (and that other guy) flew in 1903. Only 10 or so years later there was a flying corps and dog fights above Europe.<br><br>I think that's a more amazing fact.<br><br>However, when it comes to the Moon, my dad said it best when he said that he wasn't shocked when they landed on the moon because they said that they would.<br><br>The biggest tradedy about it though was that although it was a great feat, it was not done for exploration but rather to beat the Russians to it.
