If some people would just follow those two basic rules then they might turn out to be better people. In matters of faith I believe those two rules are more or less all that's required.

Well, actually he indirectly stated that the more you obey the rules, the fewer you need.

In fact he said that if you can comply to the vauge rules of "Love God above all others" and "Love your neighbor as yourself" Everything else commanded in all of the bible should come naturally, as all the other rules are based on this.

Thus implying if it doesn't, comply to those two rules, it is being distorted, or was for another time and place. Such as hatered of people who do not believe what you do. (Hmmm, so is our lovely US president REALY a true Christian? After all, he hasn't exactly been spreading love around the World.)

Additionally, if you Love God, how can you not love your neighbor? God created you're neighbor, and to not Love the creation of One that you Love is to show dislike to them. You can dislike the imperfections others, but to treat a person unfairly because of those imperfections is to express a judgemental nature to the person, and thus not to trust the One who created that person.

I'm sure this is a long winded way of saying it, but I wanted to be clear, as not everyone is familiar with why this would be.

If anyone doesn't want to discuss such a serious matter, they don't have to. All discussions on this forum are optional you know. Me a Jacob can discuss it on our own, until either one of us decides to call the discussion at it's point, or we come to an agreement.

Actually Gizensha, in a secular society you're still going to have people who have belief in God and it's just making too many rules in His name that things can get extreme from their viewpoint. I believe as far as your faith is concerned those two simple rules provide both a direction for your relation with your God and your relation with other people.

Another reason I put "Love God" is because of the context I was refering to, and not any general way in which I want other people to change their personal belief to something anyone else would want.

I wonder if it'll finally get it's own forum too. I've always wanted a place online where I can talk about O&M.
Math is NEVER overrated. Math is the key to upholding the modern world.
It takes language to build a society, but math and science to build a world.

Not that it should take anything away from what I said but I feel I must point out that I'm an atheist.
