Well thank you.
That's the nice thing about this forum: we can disagree and still respect each other. So many other forums I've been to have people who just insult you and call you an idiot or some America-hating Terrorist loving whatever whenever you disagree with them. So anyway I don't deny the possibility that America went in to bring peace, as I'm not in the White House and can only speculate.
Death Penalty?

With the current situation (though maybe not what was intended at the start) I think America is going for the divide and conquer (not literally 'conquer' though) angle, like what happened in Russia and Yugoslavia.
Division weakens the order you're fighting. All countries and terrorists know this so they incite and provoke when it's to their benefit, even if the end result they want is not absolutely abhorrent. Though the main workings of it are shady (obviously) I'm sure America indulged in this tactic with Operation Gladio during the Cold War.
Take a look at this map drawn earlier last year (scroll down the page a little). Now I wouldn't have believed it was real but apparently it was prepared by a Lieutenant-Colonel and published in the Armed Forces Journal. That's suspicious to me, even if it's still not true.

Well, Saddam didn't acquire those WMDs only to put them into weapon depots, they were used in the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988) and on rebellious parts of Iraq's population. Many WMDs also have a limited shell life - the nerve gas Sarin for example will degrade into harmless goo after only a couple of months. The major thread were the facilities used for the production of WMDs, and those were largely destroyed by the UNSCOM after the Second Gulf War, making Iraq a "defanged tiger" (according to Scott Ritter, who was working as an UNSCOM weapon inspector in Iraq for seven years).I just have one question. IF Saddam really had no WMD's when we invaded...then what the hell did he do with all the stuff the UK and US governments sold him!?
