The Thingy
Moderator:Æron
Computer, interface with the Vis-Console, and any systems console that assist in anyway or form in running this world
*mech starts computing, and after thinking for a solid 5 minutes, a wireless connection is established*
Computer, find and display the location of the thingy
*sees two thingys on radar*
Odd...
*jumps, hovers, then lands right behind felix, noticing the sniper rifle, and laughing at its inability to harm the mech, or the not so hapless driver!*
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
VisConsole: "WARNING: Unauthorized access detected."

Open console display and load security maps.
"Access Granted." *a display appears directly in front of me and projects relevant information.*

*I tap various controls on the screen; both Thingys disappear from the map. Several more taps produces another image on the map.*

Hmm.. a Mech.. VisConsole, establish a security perimeter around the general vicinity of the other Thingy and block all outgoing signals within it.
"Access Granted."

Ha. Let's see the mech get out of that.
so thats a replicated thingy! its been duped like in a Blizzard game.. what the?!?! My readouts just blacked out! Computer, switch to primary sensors
*a shortranged radar activates, but too shortranged to be of much use* I knew i shoulda bought the upgrade!
*takes away all of felixes weapons and stores them within the mechs emergency supply area*
*controls mech to put felix in a secondary gunners position located on reverse side of mech*
Felix, were going to jump around a lot, hovering to get a birds eye view to see if we can find the real thingy.
*jumps and hovers for as long as possible many times, hoping the shortrange radar or any other method helps to locate the thingy*

"Warning: Security Perimeter failure. Environmental controls entering lockdown."

Reestablish perimeter!
"Access Denied. Environment is in lockdown."

Aargh! *I check security map of area; Thingys are still invisible to detection, but I still see the mech.*

Vis-Console, load human augmentation program Sampson-one, authorization Tavis, author.
"Access granted."

*An exoskeleton materializes around me with the Thingy secured in front of me*
[hits the alt-fire button on the Redeemer launcher to deploy it in visually-guided mode]

[flies toward Tavis and notices the exoskeleton] Hmm, maybe it has a vulnerable spot...

[flies around behind Tavis and aims toward the ground as if to fly under him, then pulls straight up and strikes the underside of his mech] Hopefully that'll make a dent
"Incoming projectile. Force projection system activated."

*A spherical field pushes outward from the exoskeleton, pushing against the Redeemer without detonating it; the exoskeleton is lifted upwards in the process.*

Vis-Console! Establish spatial lock!
"Unable to comply without allowing projectile to breach field."

Divert projectile and retry.
"Access granted."

*The redeemer pushes against barrier until it turns enough to skim upward and away and I drop back to the ground; I take aim with a standard rocket launcher and fire at the Redeemer while it is still airborne, launching flares to disorient the remote controlling user.*
[laughs at the attempts to hit the missile] He apparently doesn't realize how much I practice with this thing

[effortlessly flies circles around the missiles, flying away from Tavis to re-align another shot]

[flies directly towards Tavis, avoiding other missiles as necessary]

[at the last minute, pulls down hard and hits the ground in front of Tavis, the intense shockwave moving towards him almost instantaneously]

Oh dang...
"Warning: Field stresses above tol-"

*I get blasted into the shockwave and knocked a solid distance away; the exoskeleton's image flickers just long enough to lose Thingy containment.* NOOOO!

-thud-

*Thingy keeps flying for miles until it hits ground somewhere with a solid "p-THOK!"*

[switches to the ASMD Shock Rifle because it's pretty and blue]

[shoots a few shots into the air to see the pretty blue shots]

[realizes it's also one of the weakest guns and switches to the missile launcher instead]

[places the Thingy safely within Foxchild's mech] Now, who wants this silly thing?
