Dude...Carlin said more than that. He said you have to find the line, deliberately cross it, bring the audience with you, and make them glad you did.

Those last two points, the ones you left out? Yeah, those are pretty important, at least in comedy.

From what I've been seeing coming out of religious people, they're really focusing on the word 'probably'.

Seriously...that seems to be their attitude; certainty and conviction are required for credibility in their world. To put it bluntly, we are just not all speaking the same language here, even though the words are English.
