the kid actually won the money, so it's not something that's such a cop-out.

He can't do it without any equipment! Cause an aquarium etc would be considered equipment.

Ok. Let me rephrase the riddle. He couldn't use any breathing equipment.

It is pretty pathetic when the website I got this from needs to be specified by a viewer.

Ok that's close enough. The answer was he filled a glass with water and put on top his head for 10 minutes.

Yeah, we pretty much all had the right idea. It was fairly obvious that there was a cop-out answer.

There is a barrel with no lid and some wine in it. "This barrel of wine is more than half full," said Curly. "No it's not," says Mo. "It's less than half full."

Without any measuring implements and without removing any wine from the barrel, how can they easily determine who is correct?

Tip the barrel until the wine is almost ready to spill out. If you can see the bottom of the barrel, it's less than half full.

Hmm... I think we're all just going to the same site for our riddles + answers...

Here's one I heard at the renfest last fall.

A bone not of contention
A pony in your do
A spy would want to lose it
A wind that pushes you
What am I?

Yeah. Hmm... ok.

Here's one from the Hobbit. (So it's probably going to be guessed right immediately, but oh well)

A yellow eye on a blue face
saw a yellow on a green face
and said
That eye is like mine
but in a low place
not a high place
