No...not for good. Just going down to Savannah tomorrow for the labor day weekend. Spent most of my time in this great state and have never been to Savannah. Well that changes tomorrow. Be back here round late Monday night or, more likely, Tuesday morning. Later.

I was down in Savannah
Eatin' cream and bannanas
When the heat just made me faint
I began to get cross-eyed
I thought I was lost
I'd begun to see things as they ain't.
As the relatives gathered to see what's the matter
The doctor came to see was I fine.
But the doctor said give him jug band music,
It seems to make him feel just fine.

Bring a skateboard for River Street. Or roller blades. Or any other device with small wheels so that people can laugh at you when you fall on the cobblestone street. >_>
But seriously, have a good trip. I went there for my 8th grade trip and had a good time. See if you can find the park bench that Forrest Gump was filmed on!

You know...I seriously considered doing that. I figured I'd get about as much a laugh from it as the folks around me, well serious injury aside. I actually can roller blade fairly well but I don't see how anyone could do that on the cobblestone river street. All in all I had a blast. Folks have always told me that Savannah is one of those places to visit at least once in yer life. I agree wholeheartedly with that statement. One big shame was that while we were in the city, we found out about an accident that occured earlier that morning. A car had apparently driven off the end of Drayton Street and took out an antigue terracotta lion fountain and crashed into the old Cotton Exchange building. The vehicle was still there mid-afternoon as the crew try to figure out the best way to remove the car without causing further damage to the building or the walkway. The woman managed to walk away from the crash miraculously. That fountain will be extremely hard to replace as it was a gift given to the city in the 18th or 19th century or so. Aside from all that, it was a great trip. We stayed on Tybee Island and I went to the pier last night for a spetacular fireworks show. I could go on and on with all that I did but my fingers are getting tired from all the typing. I'll have to share some of the photos I took at some point down the line.
