Gone for awhile.

As you've probaly noticed, I haven't been on very often recently. It's not because it's almost Christmas, (though that is a contributing factor) it's because my house's wireless internet is on the fritz (we have only just gotten wireless). We ("we" being me and my dad) bought another wireless adapter after the first adapter we bought worked fine, but we accidentally got a different brand of adapter than router. I won't go into detail about what I've been doing trying to get it to work (the first time we put it in we actually could connect to the internet, but it won't work after that for some reason), this is just telling you why I haven't been here. So I'll go work on that now, and in case I can't fix it by tommorrow, merry Christmas!

Well, I'm back! We haven't gotten the wireless to work, so we're just using a ethernet cable until we can fix it. Oh, and merry two-days-after-Christmas!

I had some problems with one of my computers and networking. theTank (that's what I call it) was having trouble with its built-in Ethernet port. It was a driver issue. I bought a gigabit Ethernet card that just slides into the side of the computer. (too tired to remember what they're called.) Problem solved. Then it had trouble with its wireless connection. Another driver issue. I think my mom had installed a driver update when she used my computer to do her taxes. (If it ain't broke, don't fix it.) That was the last straw. I switched from Windows to Ubuntu. No more problems. And now it runs faster without all the bloated software (particularly security software that Linux has no need of) clogging everything up.
