Temporary leave of absence

just wanted to let y'all know that I'm going to be wrenching myself away from this system of tubes we call the Interweb for a while. Three major factors are affecting this:

1. With exams coming up and many, many projects that need worked on (not the least of which being a website for our school paper that really needs to get finished up), it's just as well that I not have another million things to distract me right now. My will power is terrible, and if I don't make a solid promise that I'm not going to be online, trust me, I'm going to be online whether I'm supposed to be or not.

2. I've discovered recently that the amount of stress I'm putting on myself as of late, coupled with the horrid lack of sleep I've been getting, is taking a real toll on my health. I was sick for most of last week (setting me back even further) and still feel the aftereffects in the form of a hoarse voice that doesn't seem to want to pack up and go home anytime soon. So it's probably best for all parties involved if I cut back and settle into a less stressful routine.

3. Less significantly here, but still a factor: For those of you not already in the know... there's an awful lot of drama going on elsewhere right now, regarding things those of you who don't already know about are better off left in ignorance. (Trust me.) And if the bulk of my Internet activity is going to consist of listening to people rant back and forth about it, I may as well hide out until it's all blown over.

Needless to say, of course, I will still be keeping up with my own comics and cartoons, and naturally, I'll still be available via email and IM. I should be back after Thanksgiving, at the latest, but don't hold me to it. I might just like real life so much that I decide to pitch my tent and stay. ;)

So from all of... uh, me, to all of you, I bid you a fond farewell, good luck, and keep your stick on the ice!

Yeah, sounds like you could use a break. All those things can be quite the pain. And if #3 is referring to what I believe it is referring to, then yes, hiding out would be very nice. The whole thing's rather annoying/disturbing.

Hope your workload will ease up a little, and I hope you find time in the future to return.

I'd ask to join him in his tent, but after a certain 2005 film, people might get the wrong idea.

Never good when real life interferes with things. Good luck with everything Octan, and see you when you return. :)
