...Oh, whoops. I'm supposed to "never mind pants."

Well, it was already clear from my other contributions today, but this thread formally announces that I have returned from the U.S. Virgin Island known as St. John. I'm afraid I didn't meet any of the local bats (which are, in fact, the only animals considered native to St. John). I heard some screeching, but they were swearing angrily, so I decided not to approach them.

Too bad I'm not insectivorous. The bites still itch a full day after my departure.

Nevertheless, I'm glad I went. If you have any questions about St. John -- the island, not the guy -- feel free to ask.

Sounds like the Insects on St Johns Island are Tomvorous, though

Glad to see you're back and mostly in one piece

Yes, nice to see you back. Hopefully those bites didn't hurt so much.

I got a few minor burns, but it was worth the vacation from icy weather. The island was prone to both intense sunniness and scattered rain (hence the rainforest); too bad I never saw a rainbow. Gotta credit the beaches: the sand wasn't too hot, nor the water too cold.

Amazingly, I didn't feel too cold when I came home to 34 degrees wearing a fall jacket over a tropical shirt.

I wonder if it'll finally get it's own forum too. I've always wanted a place online where I can talk about O&M.
