Yep, Hurricane Rita again. But except, unlike Tavis, I don't get the fun of evacuating! I'm forced to sit here and ride out hurricane force winds and rainfall. So I might be gone a while, weather it's due to no power, house damage, only time will tell. More info = in my Livejournal. You can ignore the middle 2 paragraphs if you want, that's just me ranting about Astroworld closing.

Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Ditto what Zaaphod said. Come back in one piece. We prefer you that way.

Eh, it moved off towards southwestern Louisiana (or at least, from the looks of it, it is), so all we'll get is a little rain and some gusts, basically. But thanks!

Not one but two major hurricanes in the space of a few weeks? Seems like the planet is trying telling us something.

I got the same feeling when four hurricanes hit Florida right after each other.

Edit: last year.
I wonder if it'll finally get it's own forum too. I've always wanted a place online where I can talk about O&M.

Yeah, NOW I'm back. I just spent 25 hours without power. And I'm in the tropics. And there was no air conditioner. Therefore, it must have been 90 degrees (at least) inside the house. I got practically NO sleep last night. Gah, now I look at electricity in a whole new way...
