I will not be here Friday, April 29th through Monday, May 2nd. As I'll be going on a "band" trip those days to the Texas Tropical Town of Corpus Christi. We'll be staying in condos with balconies along a beach located on an empty island. There will be two pools, one heated and one not, tennis courts, basketball courts, and hot tubs. We're also getting 75 bucks to buy whatever we want for the next 4 days at a local grocery store. Lastly, there will be will over 200 college kids there, with only SOME supervision. I don't think I have to explain what THAT means.
Oh yeah and there's a band competition in there somewhere but hardly anyone cares about that, as most of it is free-do-whatever-you-want time.
So yeah, it'll be a wild weekend. I'm leaving at 6:30 AM tomorrow morning and returning Monday late at night. So, I'll see you all Tuesday.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Wow, condos on the beach, I'm jealous. Sounds like it's going to be a totally awesome time.

Have all sorts of fun down there! Back!
It wasn't quite as wild as I hoped it to be, but it still was fun! I played random games I sucked at like basketball, volleyball and ping pong, which was especially fun. The bonfire at the beach was awesome.

I think my group was in the honeymoon suite; the walls were pink, there were light dimmers and the beds had silk sheets. But that's fine. The only akward part was the fact that I had to sleep in the same bed with a girl (I'm a girl too).

The island we were on turned out to be Padre Island; a national shore that's about a mile or 2 wide at the widest point (it wasn't even a half mile where we were) and about 200-something miles long. A giant sandbar, really. But this was neat, since we had beaches both to the east and to the west, so both the sunrises and the sunsets were beautiful.

There were also 2 pools; one heated, one not, and 4 hot tubs. The hot tubs were only relaxing at 11:00 at night, I learned. The pool was nice, the only bad part was the sunburn I got around me neck. There were also saunas, but I didn't touch those.

There was also some trouble too. Probably the worst thing that happened was, excuse me, the asshole that dressed in black, including a black mask, that ran around the condos around the midnight our breaking into the girl's rooms (at least, the ones that were unlocked), therefore scaring the hell out of us. Luckily, he was arrested and sent home. This, however, is a big step up from last year. Last year, there was one group who poured honey and maple syrup in all the rooms. And there were a couple of people caught with alcohol and marajuana. None of that this year, thankfully.

The winds on Saturday morning were crazy. ALL of our patio furnature on our balcony just sort of bounced and flew all over the place, almost breaking the sliding glass windows. Some of it just simply flew off of the balcony, also. This is probably because were right by the beach, and nothing is blocking the sea breezes coming in.

At our band competiton were got one superior rating and 2 excellent ratings. Not bad.

My legs are still sore from playing volleyball from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM. But man, that was fun.

There was supposed to be a mosh pit party in room 130. That never took off. *whew*

The charter bus was awesome. Lots of room, comfy seats, good movies.

There was lots of freedom at the condos. Like, if it was 12:30 AM and I just wanted to take a walk around or go into the hot tubs or something, I'd just go. Quite different from my life at home.

There was a LOT less supervision than I had expected. The chaperones only came at 1:30 AM, to make sure we were all in the room and nothing was broken. Even then, when we said we weren't all there, our chaperone just said "OK, just make sure you don't wander off too far. I'm not worried, I'm just tired. I'm going to bed."

I think that covers everything. Sorry to torture you with this long-ish post.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm supposed to be at school right now.
