Define Cynical Fan Forums

As you probably can tell, I'm a newcomer here. However, I have been floating around these forums since their creation. I just never had much time to sign up and make posts myself (not that that has changed much now, but whatever). Anyways, I've been a fan of O&M since early 2002 when one of my friends sent me a link over ICQ. Needless to say, I was hooked since then. Hm, I'm not sure what else to say, or what else needs to be said at this point other than I'm here, I finally have an account, and I plan on sticking around at least for a while.

I'm starting to feel sorry for new users who have to put up with this. The others didn't make idiots of themselves when I first joined. It's become like a hazing ritual: new user shows up, set someone else on fire. I still don't get how this became a running gag here but I think it has something to do with "flaming." I know I've said it before, but... "Give a man fire and keep him warm for a day. Set a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life." -- source unknown Anyway, welcome to this place which is surprisingly like an asylum run by the inmates. We have a few Doctors here (Doog, Fred, Dos...did I leave anyone out?) but they've been here too long and are just as crazy as the rest of...I almost said "us" but I know better. I HAVEN'T LOST MY SANITY, I JUST CHECKED IT AT THE DOOR!
