It started with a person or two who were more or less pyros, and then it just spiraled out of control from there.<br>2) Yeah, the pie-o-meter thing more or less solidified pie being associated with off-topic-ness, but we've been famous for our randomness for a long time before that, and pie was popular among us for a long time.<br>3) It all started with Maeglin's less-than-family-friendly avatars...from there, it just went to all sorts of places that it probably should have not...a few vets may remember...

Honestly, I don't even know where the fire thing came from, though I'm pretty sure it originated in the now-defunct Thingy thread and infected the rest of the board from there. There was much burning of my poor Integra [hugs it]<br><br>Doesn't the pie thing have an O&M reference too?<br><br>And "sploding" came about when I took a hiatus for school back in January-April (I think). So I don't really know.

I had a suspicion that <a href='http://www.weebl.jolt.co.uk/pie.htm' target='_blank'>the pie</a> came from there.<br><br>Apparently, the word "rutabega" is derived from the Swedish word <i>rotabagge</i>, and in Scotland it is often referred to as a "neep". It is also the name of a <a href='http://www.rutabega.com' target='_blank'>"paddlesport" shop</a> located in Madison, Wisconsin.
