No, he doesn't eat socks. In the 2nd movie, the sock gives him freedom as elfs are not allowed to have clothes, so if their master gives them clothers, like a sock, they are free. I don't recall sock eating.

i once doodled a bert and an ernie. they looked funny, so i decided that the smarter looking draiwing(bert) was *this is your brain* and the scary clown one(ernie) was *your brain on drugs* have you checked out the version on thebigt.com?
