Thanks, guys. And special kudos for Daffy Duck who is always a pleasure!
Things are looking better now... but I still have no car. But I'll live.
Fritz (I assume you are Fritz): My dissertation deals with major meteorological events in the Houston-Galveston area and its effects on local terrain, both topographically and tomographically.
Also yes I made all my friends GTFO and crashed my car just so I wouldn't have to deal with you :`(

Nice pun. Also, wasn't your car already totaled when you got into the crash? With that being said, thats sucks

My guess is that while the car was totaled beyond repair the day of the accident, it was officially reduced-to-a-little-cube-by-a-machine when she posted the "BALLS" message. Just makes it all... more real.

Yeah, actually I was initially told that they thought they could repair the car. So that got my hopes up and everything, and I was picturing driving it to school again in the fall and everything. But then I got a call that essentially said, "Whoops, we were wrong, it's a goner." That was pretty disheartening.
I'm getting the Kelley Blue Book value for it, which is around $11,500, which is enough to pay it off. And even if it isn't, I have GAP Insurance. So it'll be paid off anyway.
Then there's the issue of another car...
