Alabama is a state in the US. People look at it as the pinicale of southerness weather for good ro for bad.

Ugh, I feel your pain, I have relatives in Mississippi, in very very small towns (like, population 100). While I'm starting to embrace my southern heritage a bit more now than before, I will never ever move any further south than I already am. Except maybe Atlanta, it's a big city and therefore counter-balances the fact that it's in the deep south.
