I'm back from my second camp!
The first one was a school cadet camp which went for 5 days and really sucked because we only did army stuff, the techers say it's heaps of fun but that's only if your platoon is a roudy bunch of clowns who want to make things fun, which mine is not so it was boring as hell.

But this camp was different.
It was a scout Stradbroke camp for four days and man! I had fun there.
They grade you on your campsite and your ability to work as a patrol and you can get Co-holder, Silver, Bronze or Compeditor. We got Bronze! Wooo!
And on the score sheet it said we got a 1/4 for patrol spirit and we all laughed and agreed and stuff until we realized the irony of what just happened.

And we got high on sugar!! We had tacos in bureto shells for dinner one night then for desert we opened a 1kg pack of cheepo lolies and sculled sugar satules and we started acting drunk for the fun of it and the end result... custard everywhere except on us.

And there were a bunch of activities they had for you to do, two of which were good.
One was water rockets where you half fill empty bottles of coke with water from a lake then attach it to an air-compressor and stick it in a tube and you've got yourself a water bazooka! Everyone got wet from that, especially when some kid tried it without the tube, and everyone did the same, that was awesome.
The second one was Service where you have to help the park rangers improve the local environment by doing stuff, this year it was pulling out pesky trees that block out sunlight and eat all the nutrition.
Believe me, pulling out a tree with your mates and a long piece of rope is fun as, so much positive stuff in it as well.
You help the enviro, you bond more with your friends and other people and it's great excersize with all the pulling and push you have to do to get the trees out.
And it builds your confidence now that I think of it, if you had a look before hand you would've thought you could never pull something as big as that out but once you have a go you see it's possible and you set your aim a lil' higher.

And I brought the word 'confuzzled' into my social group too!

So... yeah.
If you get the chance to go on a camp with a bunch of other people and an organization that knows how to entertain, bloody go for it.

I'm like Calvin about camps, i'm not a team player or a sociable guy so i avoid them. But if you had a good time then all the more power to you, just don't haul me into one.

You know how offficials get code names on the army radios?
Well there's this teacher who was part of HQ and helped with the radio network and her name was Ms. Fox and her codename turned out to be Vixen, and that was really funny cuz it matched her in more ways than one.

Welcome back. Good thing there weren't any animals attracted to custard, or your camping trip would've been a bit more "exciting."
Still mostly here.
