As a newcomer to Define Cynical...

Postby Jedi Ozy » Sat Jul 07, 2007 4:17 am

After having spent months of watching the forum yet never joining, it finally took the anticipation of this latest strip to prompt me to sign up an account.

Thank you, DCS, for this latest plotline. Based on past stories, it was sensed that this was definitely inevitable, and so thankful to see Ozy back in a dress. Why? Because he can't get any cuter, being able to handle it far better than Millie ever does. The past strips with similiar moments are always favourites, foremost being Isolde's school violence documentary plot. Looking forward to seeing more.

Didn't even see the Airport subfolder for the forum. Oh well, thanks for bringing it to my attention and thank you both for the kind welcome.

After having spent months of watching the forum yet never joining, it finally took the anticipation of this latest strip to prompt me to sign up an account.
Rule #1 of forum...ing: Be careful to post threads in correct forums! By careful observation, it can be seen that each thread in this forum corresponds to exactly one comic strip. This thread sticks out like a sore thumb in this regard... thus the conclusion should be that it should've been posted somewhere else.

My personal rule #2 is never make your first post a new thread, because if you have accidentally stumbled upon a forum of a-holes you have a better chance of survival by keeping a low profile. Personal example from a webcomic community (not this one):

On IRC:

* Me joins
<Me> Hai guyz I like this webcomic etc etc etc
<Someguy> Cool blah blah
<Someguy2> etc etc
* Time passes
* Me jams to [ Some artist - Some song ]
<Someguy> OMFG HE'S A SCRIPT KIDDIE HACKER, HE USES SCRIPTS SO HE MUST BE
<Me> Uhhh it's a one line /F3 script, it's nothing.
<Someguy2> ban ban ban
<Me> You can't be serious, it doesn't even trigger automatically, I just hit a button every once in a blue moon to announce.
* SomeAdmin sets mode +b *!*@*.whatever.submask.I.was.using.back.then
* Me was kicked by SomeAdmin

Now for the relevant bits on the FORUM (and yes I followed my Rule #1):

Me in new thread: Hey I just joined #********* and they banned me for announcing my song once... umm by accident... can anyone tell me what was up with that?

* 5 minutes later *

-- This thread has been closed --

See? It's not safe out there on the internets.

Although there was at least one nice person who PMed me to let me know the forum a-holes were pretty much a separate group from the IRC a-holes. See, THAT would have been a good response in my thread. Oh well.

But Mr MacGregor's garden is quite safe. :smile:

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

Welcomes to de forums! Have fun, and suchlike. May the force be with you! :lol:

*serves cake and ice cream to all. And peach punch.*
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.
