I was watching Manswers and in the program it mentioned that listening to country music actually leads to more suicides than any other genre of music.

Any Country listeners should we put on suicide watch?

Probably because most country music is terrible. I bet people who listen to good country music live long productive lives.

^ Exactly. There needs to be a distinction between good country artists like John Prime or Steve Earle and bad country artists like pretty much anybody who gets played on CMT or country radio stations.

Old country music is boring. I do not count Johnny Cash solely for the fact that he has transgressed being labeled as any single genre over his long career. Though I can't say I'm a huge fan of Mr. Cash either, there are a few songs that I like.

Johnny Cash is a form of classic rock.
"Johnny Cash (born J. R. Cash; February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter and one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Primarily a country music artist, his songs and sound spanned many other genres including rockabilly and rock and roll (especially early in his career), as well as blues, folk and gospel."

I generally dislike country music, with the exception of Garth Brooks. (Who has been criticized by country music people for being too much like rock.)
