Actually, in my area a name like Llewellyn would likely raise eyebrows.

In Croatia when they hear a name like that they make a face like they saw a pig flew by.

Llewellyn is not a name I have ever heard other than in this comic.

Neither is Ozyamndias, except for in that poem.

I haven't heard Millicent anywhere either...

Then I'll just stay with Llewellyn not to make it complicated.

I've seen Llewellyn in only two other places: there was a doomed space program director named Llewellyn in the 2005 Doctor Who Christmas Special, and I recall reading some article that quoted a high-ranking Nintendo (NoA, to be precise) employee named such (though I think it might have been a slightly different spelling).

Millicent I've seen a few times in fictional works, never in real life. It's an old-fashioned-sounding name, whereas Ozymandias and Llewellyn are from differing cultures. None of them are names you want to give your kid if want them to have a pleasant social life.

Millicent and Llewelyn are both pretty common, met more than one person called it on both counts. Never met an Ozymandias though, lol.

I believe Llewelyn is originally a Welsh name

Well, Millicent would be shortened to Millie which is what most little girl's would generally prefer I think.

I had a Dr. Llewellyn as my Calculus professor my sophomore year of college. When I first started reading this strip I had to cringe when it got to mentioning Llewellyn cause that was a bad experience. Almost no one could pass his class cause he was so anal that you had to do all the problems exactly as he taught or it was wrong. Of course as I read more, I was glad to see Llewellyn was nothing like the Dr. Llewellyn I had.

There are other unusual names in the comic, of course. The only "Isolde" I know outside O&M is in the story of Tristan and Isolde. And "Timulty" -- where in the world did it come from?

I have no idea from where Timulty comes but I found that Llewellyn comes from the old British thus Celtic name Lugubelenus.
