I give you my (late) Christmas gift. It's years in the making and took well over an hour to put together (fffff pasting 25MB of raw text) but herein lies all the chatlogs of #definecynical since sometime in 2005.
For: The insomniac bibliophile, the obsessive historian, or one who would just like to find out the silly things that happened in the past. Maybe for the old IRCer who would like to wing over the old things they said.
Warning: This is really big. REALLY. my dualcore 3GB setup takes a few minutes opening this.
This 73MB, 23,093 page MONSTROSITY.
Not for the faint of heart.
For your DOWNLOADING comfort, however, it is neatly zipped in a 15MB zip enjoy ^_____^
*link indefinitely (read: possibly not permanently) deleted for drama possibilities, read down for more details~*
*edit* OK so I've decided (much love to those who participated in the online survey) on the following: 6 months a fourm member, plus I must have seen your presence in the IRC doing more than lurking. I reserve the right to deny blah blah blah
I will begin sending links out Friday or so, reserve your copy today!

23,093 pages?!!!
That's about 46 thick volumes, you realize. It's simply staggering. GAH.
It would literally take years to read it.

I must point out that there is some privacy concerns in posting a log like this....You can find a lot of info out about someone like this from large logs.

File not found.
I guess Rapidshare has a report function of some sort and it was removed.

Not surprising. It really probably is a privacy issue.

I considered this, decided against, and reconsidered it.
Conspiracy theorists go home, I disabled the link myself :3
Anyone who can voice a reason why a public chatroom log (that everyone could have seen and/or logged and/or forwarded) should not be posted make a case for me not reposting this tia
*edit* full story: Hosted the log on a working link, but had quick second thoughts just after. Edited out a critical part of the URL (so it looks like it's there but it's not) pending a decision. Wanted it to be seamless, and quickly reversable (easier to put one number back in instead of c/ping a link), not possible if I removed the whole link or used rapidshares delete link. However, I...fell asleep.
Now that people have noticed, I took it out entirely, and I fully intend to rehost (with more logs; I skipped the smaller fragments when I went though my havoc experimentation phase, and I took out some repetitive logs (lol doublepaste; seriously YOU try editing this D:)

Oh no, people are going to find out what I said in public and possibly care.

I'm with Loe. I consider anything that goes on in the chatroom to be fair game for quoting or copying in entirety. It's a public chatroom afterall, and we essentialy already let log bots (read: continuously idle people) sit in there and collect logs.
However I won't let my ideas on it negate other people's concerns. If others don't see it as a public room, we should respect that.

I've got logs dating back to 2004 so I don't NEED this. But I don't read them anyway.
