I'd have to say the whole flying incidents in the 4th book are pretty funny, along with the cricket references. Also the way the first book starts is just a classic opening

i have the awesome vhs release of the 80s television show. basicly ruined any hope of my being able to read the books...but "so long and thanks for all the fish" and the babelfish entry were always good.

He managed it at the end of the final book, but he did kind of have to destroy everything to get there xD
