Otter or Human?

I know this has really been bothering me lately, but I have decided to switch back to my otter fursona because obviously my human form isn't getting quite the welcome I was hoping for.

Now I know that the majority of the people on this forums are furs and always will be. You see when I first logged on to this forum, I saw that most of the people on this forum were furs. So I thought if I had a fursona, people will like me and accept me and I would be part of a group. But I recently decided to change my image and looked into my heart and decided that wasn't who I really was, so I was given a rather accurate human persona and I decided to go along with this.

But still, you can still like those, but not be a furry. Sure being was great and all, I still like my fursona and have nothing it. But I feel the pressure of being part of a group and if it makes part of a group, fine I will switch back to my otter fursona.

I have been doing a lot of contemplating lately, asking myself, "Are they ignoring me?," "Do they just not like humans or human artwork," and "Am I nothing without my otter fursona?" I shrug it off thinking it is all untrue. But I have done some thinking about why this is. Here is the only reason I can seem to find: Maybe they resent being human and feel this as being a way to branch and show their true nature. (BUT IT IS RATHER PUZZLING AND CRYPTIC ANSWER TO TELL THE TRUTH.)

Anyway, there is a couple more human drawing left and after that, if it so pleases, the otter will come back. So reiterating, the otter fursona will be back and the human persona will be pushed back. I'm sorry if this seem rather dreary, but I have doing a lot of thinking and I wanted to get this off my chest. Thank you for taking the time to read this and listen!

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?
Please I would like the helpful advice!

Just do what makes sense to you. I don't think anyone is going to like you more or less either way, honestly.

I wish I could help you, but my fursona has the exact same personality as my online persona, which is exactly the same as my real life persona.

I am guessing that many others are the same way.

I joined here because there were furries, so obviously for different reasons than you did. But still, you don't need a fursona to be a fur. In fact, being a furry is mostly what you define for yourself. It's what I've kept telling myself from the beginning. You can like the art. You can like the cons. You can like the roleplay. Make your own furriness. If you'd rather stay without a fursona there's nothing wrong with that. Although rare, I know a few human furs. It's not a shame because it's rare. It's just what you want, nothing more.

Yeah, pretty much what everyone else said already.
Just do what you feel is right, don't worry about what others think. If representing yourself as a human is what you wanna do, then do it, If you'd rather portray yourself as an otter, then do that. I'm not judging.

I don't register if people talk on here as their fursonas. That thought seems kind of weird to me, sort of like putting on airs, since this isn't exactly an RP forums o.o

I don't (and probably won't) consider this a furry forum. I just think we got overrun by you guys and most of the non-furs left.

Would you mind explaining your signiture, since your plural pronoun of choice here seems to not include you as furry

WELL DOG WHAT NOW WE KNOW YOUR SECRETS

But I'm going to go with the "Stay with what you want most" crew. Try going back, see if you like it, and come to the IRC once in awhile to get some better feedback :v

The IRC has never worked for me...

Some possible reasons: My personal computer has always been the hand-me-down computer, the one that still has ME or Win2000, and I don't want to use everyone else's XP machines.

I use Windows OS and Internet Explorer, look I just want a computer that works and gets me to the internet, I don't really have time to tinker with my computer settings.

Other than that I get a 404.

You need a program to run IRC. I downloaded IceChat 7.0, but you can also go to http://chat.bigbudden.com/ and type,

/join #definecynical

Thanks to Tai for first telling me that!

I think you're looking at this whole thing too seriously. Personally, I don't really care if a person is furry or not, or whatever. I doubt many other people here do either. Of course I'm not furry myself, so I dunno. But really, just do whatever you want and don't worry about it. People judge by the kind of person you are, not what you present yourself to be.

And I'm not sure what you mean by your "human form isn't getting quite the welcome you were hoping for."

I felt similarly when I first joined and I dabbled with the RPing aspects a bit (I presented my self as a dragon for a very short time which isn't really furry like anyway, but also a fox also for a short time). Just do what feels comfortable, although my suggestion would be to separate your fursona and your persona and not to overdo it in RL. Set you boundaries of what you will and will not do, and have fun. Like any kind of RPing thats the key, to have an enjoyable time as a different person, possibly in a different world, without having to actually travel. It can be a rewarding experience but isn't for all people.

I felt like it wasn't getting the reception I hoped for.

Keep up the advice! It's helpful.
