What do you do when you get angry? How do you "control" yourself so to speak?

For me, I usually either rant in my LJ or I find a close friend who'll listen for ventilation. Other times I eat ^^; I don't know why! I just love food O_O I don't know how people break stuff though, what if they regret it later? >_O

LJ rants are always good, but not 100% cathartic. Ranting to a friend is good, too, but it's not like you want to drag your friends into your problems. I always enjoy listening to angry music, the faster the better, and grabbing my drumsticks and pounding along, usually on my knee. I've been doing this for years and have shot the nerves on my leg to the point that I can take a drumstick, smack it hard as I can on my leg, and not really feel too much pain. And I'm not even a drummer.

Angry music does it for me too. Well, that and language blue enough to peel paint off the walls.
sometimes angry music, sometimes violent cideogames (don't worry, i don't take that out on anything in the non-virtual world, except in that very very rare instance like mentioned in one of the current strips threads) Sometimes any video game at all. I don't have an LJ or anything similar YET, so if i rant, it's to a person, and that can help too.
or eating, sleeping, and driving can help, although if i'm driving, its to go someplace specific to help cool me down, such as a borders book store, or a grocery store, or to an arcade.

edit:
Oh, i forgot to mention a list of 'feel-better foods'. Food, or something that somwhat resembles food, that i will have in order to help boost my mood. This includes, but is not limited to:
Mike&Ike's, fudge, Skittles, Pizza, Junior Mints, Jelly Babies(on the rare occasion the import store has them!), Big red Soda (which NEVER appears anywhere north of the state line of Georgia any more ), and Mikado's (which never appear south of New Jersy! why do i have to be stuck in this rut! )

I'd never break stuff, I just can't, I feel sorry for it even if it's a pen or something.
So if I'm all streamed up (which is unusual) I'd just turn the radio on to some calmish music and lie there in bed.
But if I'm not in a position to do that then it subside it.
Not like keeping it in, more like screw them and forget it.
Get yourself distracted.

I just sit alone with my thoughts and get all steamy and let my mind deteriorate all the bad feelings as best as it can; like a bunch of white blood cells on an infection.

Sounds like a meltdown

Not at all. In fact it's the oposite. This is a form of meditation. A melt down would be if the bad feelings were deteriorateing the mind like a vrous on your body. I try and laught at whetever it is if I can. If I can't I meditate in a diferent sense. I try to clear my mind of all thought.

Yes, my mind fights my thoughts, not the other way around.

I punch the HELL out of pillow or my bed or something like that when I get mad. If I don't I'd end up being angry all day long.

Wait, didn't Foxchild already start a angry ranting thread? Or is this one somehow different?

First of all, I believe the thread you're referring to was started by me, not FoxChild. Secondly, if we're talking about the same thing, that thread was intended for people to rant about stuff, whereas this one appears to be a discussion of how people deal with their anger. Hope this helps!
