No More Newshounds!!!

Postby Llewthepoet » Wed Aug 16, 2006 1:30 pm

This is Asterikboy86 peeking in for a moment! Hey, did any of you folks just here the announcement Thomas K. Dye made about his comic, Newshounds. I've some of you folks making posts over there on that forum and wanted to know your opinions. He is shutting down Newshounds on December 1, 2006.

I'm sure DCS will probably have something to say, with them being best friends and all.

Dude, that sucks!!

I bet it'll end with Renata having her pups and living happily ever after with Wolfram though, so that'll be cool.

Can't really say I've ever read Newshounds (please don't hurt me!), but it's always sad to see a webcomic go.

(Now that the worst is over, can someone explain what Newshounds is about? :P )
Furries? Are they the nutters that pretend to be animals and draw humans that look like animals? Christ, I sink my head into my paws... -Rooster

newshounds is about hounds that work on a newstation. That's the general plot, which is all I can say as a non-reader.

But at least he's started the other strip!

DCS should've ended the comic a year or two ago.

I've been reading it for a few years now. It's sad to see it go.

I've already had my favourite webcomic stop this year, now this. 2006 hasn't been a good year for my comic list.

I kept passing by Newshounds for some reason, I havn't really took a look at it. Are the strips still going to be up? Or is the server and everything altogether being shut down?

if the strips are going down, maybe some guy will go Sean Howard on TKD and make a full archive of everything ever put on there available publicly.

It's going to be sad, seeing a comic end.

Just curious, why December 1, specifically?

This is one of those comics that I've always said "someday I really have to check that out" to. I guess you snooze you lose. At least there's always achieves .

Yes, the archives will still be there.

That's more or less just the way it worked out for both the online comic and the final book. I have to move next year, as well as work on some new skills, so I definitely had to wrap it up before the year was out no matter what.

Thanks to all the NH readers on this site for the kind words. :)

Thomas
