Yep. Right here.<br><br>Then again, in my program, it's kind of a necessity.

What distro do you reccommend for general use...not programming or coding, or server?

To be honest, I haven't tried very many - primarily because Linux takes too long to install (in comparison to, say, Windows). It is a good idea, though, to look for what will work with your computer. Not that it will reduce the list of distros <i>that</i> much

Hmm... Gentoo...I was think about that one.<br>Others on my list are Fedora, Mandrake, and Debian.<br><br>What do you think?

if you're not very good with command lines (like DOS) or don't know much about linux, I would definitely not reccommend Gentoo. I use Fedora Core 3 because it's the only distro I have found to ever recognize my internet hookup, but my hookup is very strange. So I'd probably reccommend Fedora Core 4 if you have four blank CDs to spare.

well, I'm hardwired to a D-Link wireless router but I have my motherboard's ethernet port, which didn't work when I bought it, a second ethernet port, which doesn't work either, and a third ethernet card that's very old and most distro's don't recognize it, but they do every other D-Link ethernet card.

huh? I googled NdisWrapper and it's a wireless card driver? I don't use wireless. I use an ethernet port, it's hardwired.

Having tried many, many different versions and distros of Linux, I personally recommend SuSE. It's easy to install, fits on one CD, and is probably the best for people who are used to using Windows. It's the only one I've seen that lets you adjust Control-Panel-like settings like screen resolution and drivers from within the GUI. You can even access files from a Windows-formatted drive (FAT32 <i>or</i> NTFS) in it. Two distros that I've found to work fully for my computer is not a very good list.
