Dear God,

Thank you for the stars.

Sincerely,
Sev

I'm not sure whether it was the profusion of alchohol tempting me, or the severe blow to the head I recieved from one of my fish, but I decided to leave the christmas party early. I noticed what a clear night t was-- even in the city, I could see the stars. So I drove out in the country where it was really dark, crawled in the bed of my truck and looked at them for a few hours. It's been a long time since I've had a good look at the stars. The news? They're still beautiful. Just like they are 24 hours a day, seven days a week when we aren't looking or can't see them.

Sort of like people in that respect. 99,87% of the time, they're ugly, stupid, selfish and weak. But every once in a couple hundred thousand lifetimes, they'll do something so amazing that all the consumerism and vapid conformism and rape and ethnic cleansing and the fear is worth it. Maybe.
