Xp dosn;t work with most of my new stuff or any of my old stuff. I think part of the problem may be that I got this computer 2 years ago and when I did I had a strict budget so I couldn;t get top of the line.

You've thought they'd've made XP backwards compatible, wouldn't you?

ME was so bad that MS gave up on it and rushed XP out. That's bad.

ME was not bad! I loved it to bits and then glued it back again so I could love it some more! No, really, I installed Win 2000 and had to do all kinds of crazy stuff to get ME back.

Is XP any good for networking?
XP Pro is just as good for networking as Win2k, with many useful advanced options and diagnostic tools.

XP Home is more like 98 in that regard, it does very simple communication over ethernet, but its security is horribly weak, and having control over your file sharing is a nonexistant fantasy.
