Should atheists celebrate Christmas?

To me, it's just a time to give presents and be close to family. Why should not believing in god prevent me from enjoying a day with food, family, and presents?
And the other 364.25 days aren't?
How cruel.

You strike me as the person who if I said you were looking good today you'd yell at me because I was implying that you're ugly normally.

Careful, Dr. Dos. You don't want to start a sentence with "You strike me" when addressing this guy. He might stop there and take it as a request to strike you.

SotiCoto doesn't really seem like the violent type to me. I just think SotiCoto likes to poke anthills with a stick. (Come on, click the link. You know you want to...)

Close, but not quite.
Most people who compliment me usually want something from me... so I would most likely just stare at you distrustingly and somewhat annoyedly until you continued saying the rest of what you wanted to say.

On the flipside, if you walked up to me and said: "You look like sh!t today." ... I would smile, thank you, and tell you whatever you wanted to hear in return.

Sometimes I wake up and suspect I was accidentally born in a backwards Universe.

But your guess was a good one nevertheless.

... You can stop poking the link-hill now. Thanks. This is the confirmation that I have clicked it at least once. I can't speak for everyone else, but I imagine they have done as much clicking as they are going to do. ^_^

If we look at the etymology of the word we can see that Christmás means "more Christ." Therefore, Christmás is a day in which we bring more Christ into our lives through the doing of ancient and dark voodoo rituals and the drinking of eggnog. The eggnog is essential.

Then, when we failed to resurrect Zombie Jesus we console ourselves by giving each other gifts so the day isn't a complete write-off.

And thats what I celebrate.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.

I tried to convince my parents that the holiday was actually Christmás last year. They didn't believe me. :(
