Coincidentally, yesterday I recalled a photo from shortly after 9/11/01 that showed a jet missile on which was written, "HIGH JACK THIS FAGS." Apparently, the author had a vocabulary of nothing but four-letter words.
While we're at it, there should be a comma in there.
Or one could replace "THIS" with "THESE".

Oh, and 'highjacked' isn't a word - it's 'hijacked'.

The US military has lots of "great" weapons, it's just a shame there's no grown ups. They're boy-scouts with guns and camo, and from my experience with the ones I met, they have the mental ages of toddlers.

Roo, while I normally am ok with your humor, I find that rather dishonoring to the people I know in the military. Show at least a little respect...

While I agree the comment was probably uncalled for Roo is only sharing an opinion on people he met while in the army himself so he's not disrespecting the US army in general.

Dictionary.com claims "transition"is a verb. As in "He transitions". Need I say more?

And Doog, there are rules in English, they just differ depending on the language of origin. Words with the same origin follow the same rules.

So does Merrian-Webster. I don't think I've ever used it that way. But then again, I speak weirdly. :wag:

Merriam-Webster is an American dictionary. No British dictionary lists transition as a verb. And Loeln, stop trying to ruin our petty squabbling. :P

Yep. Just a noun and adjective according to Cambridge Dictionaries Online. So basically, 'transition' can be a verb in American English, but not in British. Learning something new every day.

umm, this thread transitioned into an english-smacking thread.

What I mean to say is that english became a language through people introducing their words into it, it never had any one specific basis. Early english didn't even have proper spellings for words, if William Shakespeer didn't have a specific spelling for his name then I shouldn't get a mark on a paper for referring to him as such.
