I think the correct pronounciation is 'HOBS' and even if it isn't i'll still say it like that.

I've been pronouncing Hobbes with the same <i>o</i> vowel as in <i>oblong</i>... and of course, a silent <i>e</i>.

It's "Hobes". Hoe-bss. That how I've always said, and the spelling makes it the logical way to me.

Most people i know pronounce it Hobbes like in Hobble, or a sound like Job.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.

5fifty, you're spelling/pronouncing it hobes! it's hobbes, it's like rip is short and riip, though not a real word, would be pronounced ripe.
