MACs will always be the ultimate graphics machine but for upgrades and repairs they're very expensive, take ages and are hard to find in the first place.

Although they need to be powerful Macs. And due to the hard to upgradeness of them, you're looking at a new MAC every time a significantly improved one comes out (2-3 years?) rather than just upgrading your pc ever year with a new one every five or so.
