Why are people so damn snobby about Celsius?

I'm familiar with Celsius so it seems more right and easier to me. If I'd grown up learning Fahrenheit then that would be what I prefer.
I actually don't mind that different countries have different measurements, not just for temperature. It's fun reading and finding out about them and it shows a little of their culture in my opinion. Like, a few weeks back I was marvelling over the different calenders in use around the world, especially the Asian ones, and what year they're in.

The only thing your comment managed to break, on the other hand, is my heart.

I would love the US to switch to metric. Our current system involves odd fractions (1-3/11 of an inch? or 2.54 cm)... Not the best example... But still... The current system confuses me, I would find it so much easier with a system based on 10s. Plus it would be so much easier to relate to other people around the world. I have to admit that Farenheight gives a better feel for temperature, but still 100C is so much easier than 212F. Its more practical, also how does the whole metric thing work in the UK, they seem to use miles o_O? Also, god its hot where I live, its almost 4 Angele!(a Angela being singular of course).
In the UK, we use metric for everything except roads, people and milk.
